Canada’s Double Portion from North Battleford, Saskatchewan is a unique group in many ways. This 5 piece Gospel band is made up of parents Duncan & Debbie Hemmerling and 6 of their 10 children. After several years of uncertainty, they are thrilled to be back touring again with concerts and festivals south of the border and across Canada.
2025 marks the 43rd year of ministry for this veteran group and they are ready to continue moving forward.
Originating with Duncan and his three sisters, Canada’s Double Portion has crisscrossed the continent from Newfoundland to British Columbia, Georgia to Alaska. Four decades of travel have provided unique experiences like singing on the Grand Ole’ Opry stage, backing up Johnny & June Cash at a Cash/Rivers family reunion and performing with many of Gospel music’s premier groups at North America’s largest events. However, experience has taught this family that the smaller things in life are often the most rewarding!
Canada's Double Portion have been nominated for Group of the Year numerous times and have received multiple awards for Album, Song of the Year and Live Band of the Year in the Gospel Music Association Canada.
They are thankful for every opportunity they have to share the Gospel!

Duncan & Debbie Hemmerling
When Duncan and Debbie are not travelling, they lead worship, spend time with family and raise 26 head of bison.
Madison Hemmerling
When Madison is not travelling, he spends most of his time in our music studio, Buffalo 409 Studios, recording our music as well as his own known as "The Gladstone", as well as other musical artists. He also plays drums on a couple of the worship teams here in North Battleford, SK.
Moriah Hemmerling
When Moriah is not travelling she works as the Nutrition Coordinator at BGC Battlefords here in North Battleford, SK. She also leads worship at a couple of our local churches.
Olivia Hemmerling
When Olivia isn't travelling she spends most of her time baking for her friends and family. She also babysits and helps lead worship.
Octavia Hemmerling
When Octavia isn't travelling she works at BGC Battlefords as a Program Leader. She also runs sound and plays bass on our worship team.
Emerson Hemmerling
When Emerson isn't travelling he attends JPII Collegiate as a student in grade 10. He also plays drums for our worship team.
Alethea Hemmerling
When Alethea isn't travelling she attends grade 8 at Heritage Christian School in Battleford, SK. She also helps sing on our worship team.
